St Paul's School Victory over St. Patrick's

The Local Derby

It was 3 o’clock and we were all geared up. Sir split us up into groups for the car journey. We were all very nervous because it was our first tag match, but still we were confident and determined we would win. When we all arrived we warmed up, then we practised our pop-passing and played fireball.
The referee called the teams to the pitch, then, while my team were lining up, he called the captains over who were myself and someone called Michael. They had first ball, the ref blew the whistle and we were off. We scored the first try, but throughout the first half St.Patrick’s kept within 1 try.
End of 1st half the score was 4 tries to 3 to us. We rushed over to Sir to tell him the good news, but we all knew they could still come back considering they were only 1 try behind us.
So we all went back to the pitch in a serious mood, it was our turn to start with the ball. We all knew we couldn’t let St.Patricks get the ball. The score was 8-3 and we were starting to get over-confident. We all thought that we had the game in the bag, but then St.Patricks came back with a try. There were 3 more minutes and in those minutes we managed to fit in 3 more tries.
The final whistle blew indicating the end of game and the start of our jubilation. But still as we are good sportsman we helped put away the cones and corner posts. We gave St.Patrick’s 3 hip, hip, hooray’s. Me, Liam, and Mason called the team in, they made a circle around me “Give me an S!!” I shouted “S!!” my fellow teammates shouted back, we shouted the whole St.Pauls name. Then Sir said he would give us all a reward, then he said to me “and as your reward Will, you can write a report about today!” and that’s how I’m here today.
